QUESTION: how well is this made Is it solid wood and heavy? by renee p 1/21/2012
ANSWER: This is a well made piece of furniture. We bought it for our 2.5 yo and then again for our 1yo. The first one is starting to show wear in the drawers but is an easy fix. The sides and drawer bottoms could be thicker but we are very happy.
Remember this is a piece you won't keep for too too long, unlike the crib or chest of drawers. It would be nice if you could take off the top railings and keep it as a chest of drawers. by S W 2/9/2012
ANSWER: The unit itself is very solid and heavy. The drawers are a bit flimsy and don't slide the best. The don't stick at all, they just are not the best I have seen as far as smooth sliding drawers go. The wood is a very nice color and is consistent with the matching crib I also purchased. ANSWER: It is solid wood and heavy. I LOVE this set. We have had it for a year and I would definitely get it again! The crib and dressers are great too. You have to be very careful putting it together because it will scratch and show the marks my husband scratched one of the drawer fronts and the company sent us a new one free!. by D R 2/8/2012

ANSWER: It is pretty stable. My son was a kicker and a jumper and he didn't destroy it. The outside is solid wood, the top and the drawer interiors are light wood. It is not heavy and easy to move around. I would recommend the product. by M U 2/7/2012
ANSWER: I bought it because the description said it was solid wood but it is very soft wood & scratches easily. I believe it is solid wood because I wasn't able to see any veneer overlay. It isnt very heavy. I like the set & would buy again from this website because the shipping time was so quick and none of the packages were damaged. by C A 2/7/2012

ANSWER: No, this is not made of solid wood. You will be hard pressed to find something that is solid wood and heavy in this price range. We have 2 sets of this exact furniture our little ones are 14 mos apart and it holds up sufficiently but I wouldn't call it sturdy furniture. The finish does scratch pretty easily on both the changer and crib. It serves our purpose well since to step up to the "sturdy" furniture, there is a siginficant price jump. If price is not an issue for you, I would get a more expensive/sturdy line of non toxic furniture. by H P 2/7/2012
