Easing your Child's Transition from Crib to Big Kid Bed

Convertible cribs are generally sold with the conversion rails or conversion kit needed to convert the crib to a toddler bed. The crib mattress is also used on the toddler bed, saving you from having to purchase another mattress or bed. We recommend that customers always check the features list to make sure you know what conversion pieces are included with the crib. If you're planning to do all of the crib's possible conversions such as toddler bed to daybed to full-size bed, make sure to get all of the conversion pieces when you purchase the crib.(Some conversion pieces are sold separately.) If you wait till later it might be hard to find the pieces that you need.

When your child reaches the height of 35” or starts to scale the sides of the crib, then it's time for the big bed. Your child's transition from crib to toddler bed might be easier if you use the same crib/bed for the transition. You might even want your toddler to watch as you convert the crib to the toddler bed so your growing child sees that it's the same bed just in big kid form. Keeping your child on the same mattress guarantees the same nighttime comfort that your child has been used to since birth, resulting in continued sweet dreams.
