QUESTION: I see the two side-rails but don't you need cross-bars of some sort to hold a full-size mattress It looks like I will need more than just these two rails to convert the crib to a full-size bed. by barbara r 8/13/2012
ANSWER: I thought that, too! But, the rails have a significant ledge that holds the box springs just fine. and that's rigid enough to hold the mattress. We have converted the bed back to the crib right now for our second baby and the rails are in the closet waiting for him to get big enough for the full size bed again. We never had a problem with it with our daughter. by A S 8/14/2012
ANSWER: We've had this crib converted with these rails since 2010, and I thought the same thing originally. But actually, when you put the full size box spring on there, it sits perfectly on the lip of the rails, then the mattress on top of the box spring. Hope that helps! We've not had a problem at all with ours - and that's saying a lot considering my 4 year old son jumps on that bed whenever I'm not looking! : by M A 8/14/2012

We have loved the crib, and the toddler bed that it converted into. Now that our daughter is 3, her big Christmas present was a "big girl bed". We bought the rails that turned the crib into a full sized bed. It was so easy! And the bed is beautiful. It's a great transition from her crib to a big girl bed b/c of the familiarilty of the headboard and footboard. I highly recommend it!

This crib has been a blessing since our baby first slept in it. It is roomy and sturdy and perfect all around! She is two and about to move up to a big girl bed so we have gotten the conversion kit. It will be a beautiful bed! This is a wonderful product, I would recommend to everyone! :-)
