After reading several reviews on this crib, I made sure to inspect the crib right when I opened it - and sure enough there was a nice sized gash on the front of it. It really bums you out after you wait so long to get the crib and when you get it, it is damaged. Our baby should be here any day now.. I cannot take the time to re package it and send it back.. and then wait 10 days for a new one to arrive. I guess we will just have to deal. What a shame..

So far, we've really liked this crib. The crib is beautiful (we got the pecan color) and sturdy and seems like it will withstand years of wear and tear (we'll see!). It was very easy to put together. Our only disappointments were that when it arrived there was a small chip on one of the pieces, but it isn't visible now that the crib is put together. Also, in order to move the crib from one height to the next you have to unscrew the mattress support, which is kind of a pain. We're okay with that though because its sturdy and we don't anticipate changing the height every day or anything. We did a lot of research before purchasing this crib, and even though the Kalani cribs seem to be very popular, they are not made of hardwood which was important to us. Plus, the company AFG supports several great non-profit organizations that we could feel good about.
