ANSWER: Sorry I can't help. Ours is still together as a crib with the changing table attached. looking at it I would think that until you convert it to a full size bed they need to be connected because they share a leg. by D O 2/9/2012

ANSWER: iam pretty sure the changing table has to be attached when it is in the infant crib version because the left side of the changing table is acting as the top side panel of the crib. U might want to finhd out if the coverter kit includes peices that might acheive what you are looking for I have not yet needed the toddler converter kit yet which iold seperatly. But I can tell you that both my sister and I have this crib and for the price it is a great purchase. It is a very sturdy crib and table. It also looks really good once all set up. Have someone help you put it together cause it has a lot of peices. Hope this info helps. by S H 2/7/2012
